My name is Jacob Wright, and I got the shortened version of Jacob, Jac (instead of Jake), from my mother. I liked being different from some of the other Jakes I knew, so it stuck.
Just a Little Bit About Me
I have been developing web software full time for just less than two years. Although that isn’t very long, I have picked up very much, very rapidly. I have mastered PHP and MySQL, learned Java, become proficient in Java’s Struts framework, standards based HTML, CSS, Javascript, and MS SQL. I have learned object oriented programming and have developed my skills in object oriented design and architecture.
As I look back, it amazes me how much I’ve learned in the time I have. I feel that part of it is due to my love of programming. I program at work for money and then at home for hobby. I also feel, being religious, that God has blessed me with the ability to learn quickly and be able to provide for my family. I am very grateful for this.
I have a beautiful wife and adorable daughter. I also now have another child on the way! which is very exciting. I hope to have a large family, maybe 18-20 children (that’s what I tell my wife).
I often have a sarcastic sense of humor, love music, and enjoy mountains. I play the French Horn and sing, and I live in Utah next to the most beautiful mountains.
I hope to have my own buisness someday. Right now I’m working at mediaRAIN as a backend developer, doing all the database stuff and PHP stuff we need. Derek Andriesian and I are looking to make our own web-based products that we can sell or host subscription services for. We both thrive on building the best software we can and don’t want to work with clients that are more concerned with budgets than quality.
